About the Artist

Pablo Carod

Pablo Carod is a fine art photographer with over fifteen years behind the lens. His work spans portrait, dance, and editorial photography across the United States, but his deepest pursuit has always been the world most people walk past — the delicate structure of a flower's stamens, the surface of a sphere at 10x magnification, the light bending through glass in ways the eye doesn't catch.

His macro and micro photography uses focus stacking techniques of 25 to 200 individual exposures, building a single image with a depth of field impossible to achieve in a single frame. The result is work that reveals structure and beauty at scales the naked eye cannot reach.

Beyond the macro lens, Pablo is drawn to cityscapes at night, quiet moments found while traveling, and abstract compositions — always searching for the frame that shifts how you see something familiar.

Carod Fine Art also features a curated selection of original acrylic paintings — botanicals, landscapes, and nature studies — each a unique, one-of-one work.

The Process

How a single image is built from dozens — or hundreds — of exposures.

1

Capture

Each subject is photographed in 25 to 200 individual frames, each focused at a slightly different depth. At macro scales, the depth of field of a single exposure is thinner than a sheet of paper.

2

Stack

The frames are aligned and composited, extracting only the sharpest region from each exposure. The result is a single image with depth of field impossible to achieve in any single photograph.

3

Refine

Color grading, retouching of stacking artifacts, and careful output sharpening prepare the final image for archival printing on fine art paper — ensuring what you see on the wall matches the vision of the capture.
